playing at the park

Every day is a photo opp to me, and our playdate at the duck pond was no exception! How can I help myslef when I have the cutest, silliest little girl in the world? So here are a few pics...

Feeding the "quack quacks"

telling the ducks "no no" for some reason!

I love this one!! I think she had sand on her fingers or something! lol!

scowling at me because I told her not to climb up the slide!

an end of September to remember!

The past week was chaos... Shawn finally had baby Natalie, who is the most delicate sweet baby girl! I got to spend the night with them and get plenty of newborn snuggles, it was wonderful! here's a pic of her...

All together now.... "Awwwwww!"

Then Ryleigh got a nasty stomache bug and I spent the rest of the week up to my elbows in ickiness! I tell you, I never would have believed I could love someone else enough to catch their barf in my hands or stand with them in the shower covered in diahrea... now I know that I do! Guess that motherhood stuff is as strong as it is gross sometimes! Lol! Luckily, Ryleigh was feeling much better by Saturday morning, so we spent an impromptu weekend in Austin to see Jason again before his next deployment (pray for him!) and even got to catch up quickly with Dana & Andy!

Making poor Uncle Andy get in the cold pool!

Tickling Aunt Dana!

Reading with Aunt Dana!

Coloring with Uncle Jason

sad to say goodbye

Ryleigh turned 18 months old on Saturday!! Wow, hard to believe! Today was her well baby appointment, and the results are in... she weights 26 lbs 6 oz. (after a week of tummy troubles!) and is 32 inches tall! She is in great health and of course, developmentally advanced (hello - she was reading at two days old, remember?!) so we are very grateful for our happy healthy little girl!!! The most traumatic part for her was when they attcahed the pulse monitor thingy to her toe! Totally painless, but it freaked her out for some reason and she was sobbing "no!!! mine toe!!!" for five minutes, even after the nurse took the durn thing off! *sigh* I don't know where she gets that drama queen gene from! hee hee hee! This week I am going to do a mold of her handprints and we are going to get portraits done of her in ruffly panties and pearls before she loses all her baby pudgyness! lol! well, gotta run, lots of homework to do...

oh, and speaking of growing up so fast... Happy Birthday to my little brother Nick! 24 years OLD!!!! (what a coincidence, I'm turning 24 soon too!!) LOVE YOU, Nick-e-bus!

insomnia

ugh, I can't sleep! which is the worst b/c I know I will be woken up in just a few hours by a very perky little girl! after an hour of laying in bed, I decided just to get up and blog for awhile, maybe it will tire me out! We had a fun day today playing with Brenna, and I got such great pics of the girls! Brenna is so amazing with Roo, so patient and sweet! It makes me wish Roo had a big sister of her own... read carefully, I said BIG sister, not a younger sibling! just wanted to point out the difference before anyone starts (or continues - *ahem* MOM!) bugging us to have another! lol! Poor Shawn is about to pop and I remember all to vividly that feeling that pregnancy will never end, so I'm not about to go there again! So everyone pray for Shawn that she has a safe and quick delivery... soon!
Tmrw we are going to spend some time with Ryan's folks, and Ryleigh is already talking excitedly about Pop Pop (Ryan's dad!). I have been trying to get her to practice saying "trick or treat" and "boo" in preparation for Halloween, but for some reason the most exciting part for her is walking up to someone's door and saying "knock knock" when they open it! When Brenna opened the car door for her today, Roo said "knock knock" and Brenna thinking there was a joke attached said "who's there?" and Ryleigh was extremely puzzled... "Ilee!" she said in a duh tone of voice! I had to explain to Brenna that Roo doens't tell jokes yet, and then had to run through my very short repertoire of knock knock jokes for her. Anyone know any good ones I can pass along? OK, enough babbling, I better go try to get some sleep...

quick tidbit

Some pics we had made while in PHX last month...

Ryleigh is shrieking at me from her room b/c apparently she is not in the mood for naps lately. Well too bad for her, I am VERY in the mood for naptime! I've got a few minutes to blab here while my online classwork is uploading, so I thought I'd share a funny story... the other night Ryan and Roo were roughousing around in the living room and Ryan accidentally landed with his foot on my new vaccum! Roo went over and picked his foot up, shoving it off my vacuum and shook her finger at him saying sternly "no no! that's mommy's!" (ok, really it sounded more like "no no! tat mommy!")! Ryan and I laughed so hard! She always points to footballs or UT symbols and says "Daddy" when we're out, so I guess now I know what she associates me with - housework! nice!
Allright, time to move on to homework! The screams are dying off, she is finally wearing herself out! whew!

p.s. please do not call CPS on me, I know I sound like a mean old mommy, but she NEEDS a nap, she's just being stubborn about it! (she gets that from Ryan of course!)

breakfast

So Roo decided she did not need my help with her yogurt this morning! Since we had enough time for a bath before we had to leave, I let her have some fun! obviously it was not an entirely succesful attempt, I'd say only about a quarter of the bowl made it in her mouth, the majority was glooping down her shirt and into her lap! after a quick dunk in the tub (along with the booster seat!) she was as goood as new! I consider it worth the mess for the confident look on her face (mixed with a little mischief as well!) don't you?!

a plethora of pictures!!!

well there ya go, a ton of pictures from our PHX trip! as you can tell, it was a lot of fun!
as for today's excitemement, I just have to share - I am officially the kind of loser housewife I never thought I'd be! lol! I am so excited about my new vacuum!!! If anyone is in the market for a new one, go to Target and get the Breast Cancer Awareness pink Dyson! Not only is it PINK, but it is on sale for $399 and you get a $100 gift card to Target! $30 of the price goes to breast cancer research, and it is an all around awesome vacuum!!! It is light, with looooong attachments that are quick and easy to use! bagless and super suction! I vacuumed Roo's room and got a ton of crud out of the carpet that our old vacuum missed! so ok, that's my little spiel about that! on to more important things... I am busy planning a huge Halloween party at our house, so if anyone is in our neck of the woods, you better come! and if you have any cute Halloween craft ideas for the kiddos, let me know! well, I better get some studying done and get my sore butt (spinning class this am, brutal!) to bed early! nighty night!
